This our first trip since our last big trip to Southeast Asia in January earlier this year. It has been a torturous summer watching all our Facebook friends travel to the beach while we stayed behind and worked. Ok, I know what your going to say, but before you do, winery hopping all summer was a lot of work! Packing picnic baskets and curing hangovers is not an easy job, but well worth the fun! This trip couldn't have landed in our laps at a better time, as the weather is starting cool off here in VA. If you don't know by now, you will soon learn we pretty much hate the frigid winters.
Tuesday 10/28/14:
Rise and shine....or not! ETD from the house was 5:00 AM..... 4:41 AM Jackie is STILL sleeping and NOT packed. Beyond belief we somehow managed to get out of the house only 17 minutes late and to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Now, before you laugh at that cute face with his little race car phone case, the poor thing was working until about 3 AM.

A short 3.5 hour flight, and we finally make it to paradise! After an extremely lazy afternoon, we make it out to the Marriott Casino (He never walks so fast unless he has to poop or there is a craps table near by). Of course I roll my eyes because this is the first real adventure Jackie wants to do, and honestly, he usually walks away pissed at the end of a craps game. Not tonight, we weren't going to have a grumpy Jackie, I thought as we were walking in. Boy was I right! Someone was looking out for us, the game got real hot, I was yelling at him on repeat "keep bringing me those greens baby!" ($25 chips), really it was another guy rolling the dice. Jackie did, and we walked away with $1,200! Woop! Fancy dinners (w/ wine & desserts), drinks and excursions PAID for this week! Best vacation yet!
Wednesday 10/29/14:
Getting our crappy hotel breakfast out of the way we are excited to head over to the excursion booth to book our tours. The plan was to visit the Bioluminescent Bay, El Yunque Rainforest, and Flamenco Beach. Knowing our combined weight was to much for kayaking to the Bay we were determined to find a boat tour. Unfortunately there were none operating so we asked the guy at the booth anyways what the weight limit was for the kayaks....500lbs. Knowing we both exceed this limit, we push the guy to get us booked on it anyway. When that failed to happen, Jackie turned, looked at me, and then said "it's your fault, I have always been fat, but if you were still 19 and skinny we could go". Needless to say, that's when the day of Fireball shots started flowing! This video here pretty much sums up the rest of our day.

Thursday & Friday 10/30-31/2014:
El Yunque Rainforest, our first excursion, was incredible. It's the only rainforest in the US system. The hike was beautiful (a tad hard on the narrow slippery walk way), swimming in the waterfall was refreshing, and the hike back up was dreadful! Longest .87 mile of my life! On Friday we rode out on a catamaran to do some boat jumping, snorkeling and go to Flamenco Beach (a world famous beauty). There we took a nice long walk down to where the Navy left a tanker on the beach. Partially in the water and all grafittied up, it was beautiful in its own rustic way.
Lets not forget Halloween night. Costumes on, Fireball shots flowing, Jackie and I dancing like two fools, we had a great time! I'm sure Jackie was embarrassed at my attempt of salsa dancing. I know I was, haha!

Saturday 11/1/14:
Excited I have the whole day left before our 6PM flight, I wake up with plans to go to the beach. Jackie's hangover didn't agree. A nice lunch beachfront, a little souvenier shopping and one hell of a long nap (Jackie of course) wrapped up our last day.
Here are a few photos from our trip. Enjoy, xoxo!
